I bring a fresh perspective into every project
My name is Mckayla Beauchamp, and I am both a student and graduate instructor at Utah State University. Beyond teaching English 1010, I am currently earning my master’s degree in English with a specialization in creative fiction. Specializing in creative writing has given me a unique perspective that doesn’t just end in artistic endeavors. Before returning to master’s school, I had the opportunity to work in a field I’d never envisioned myself in – environmental science. This experience taught me how to write to a wide variety of people ranging from average homeowners to state compliance officials. Each interaction required thoughtful consideration in all of my communication.
By combining my diverse exposure to writing and design through creative writing, environmental science, and communications, I center my work to consider the specific perspectives of each audience I interact with.
When I’m not working, you’ll likely find me trying new crafts, getting myself into trouble in the kitchen, or spending time outside with my husband and our beloved dog, Newt.
